Moon-Kissed (Blood-Moon Bonded) (๐Ÿช ULTRA)

Category: BLOODLINES
Species: Arkaine

Individuals with Moon-Kissed Blood have a natural affinity for lunar magic.
Their powers strengthen significantly under the light of the full moon, allowing them to control shadows and glimpse the future in moonlit reflections. Some might even find their hair or eyes glow faintly during peak lunar phases.

Those who are born into the Moon-Kissed Bloodline are generally very connected with Valontras; they often receive visions and prophecies from her.

A select few of this bloodline are rarely known to be used as a vessel for Valontras - male or female, only true worshippers of Valontras are called to do her bidding. These Arkaine are called the Blood-Moon Bonded.ย

Black Blood (โณ LEGENDARY)

Category: BLOODLINES
Species: Arkaine

The Arkaine's Black Blood is a rare mutation, which turns an Arkaine's blood as dark as the night sky, and iridescent as an oil slick under sunlight. This unique bloodline grants unusual, often subtle, abilities. It's believed those with Black Blood are personally chosen by the deity Valontras, bestowing powers that lean more towards defense or utility rather than overt strength.

Black Blood abilities must be approved by Arkaine Staff & Owners.ย
Black Blood abilities areย not a Vestige bloodline, meaning multiple Arkaines with Black Blood can have the same or similar abilities.ย
Your Black Blood ability willย not be exclusive to your Arkaine; however, if you are creative enough, you can make it extremely unique to the point where it is unlikely to be similar to another's.ย

Sun-Kissed Bloodline (๐Ÿช ULTRA)

Category: BLOODLINES
Species: Arkaine

Individuals with Sun-Kissed Blood have a natural affinity for solar magic.
Their powers surge with the sun's strength, enabling them to generate warmth, accelerate natural healing (called Solar Mending), and always seem to have a subtle charm or charisma that seems to emanate from them, making others more receptive to their words. This isn't mind control, but a natural warmth that makes people trust them more easily. During peak daylight, some might even find a faint, golden luminescence about their skin or in their eyes.

Those who are born into the Sun-Kissed Bloodline are generally very connected with Kamales; they often receive visions and prophecies from him.

A select few of this bloodline are rarely known to be used as a vessel for Kamales - male or female, only true worshippers of Kamales are called to do his bidding. These Arkaine are called the Sun-Flare Found.ย
The existence of this brother bloodline to the Moon-Kissed Bloodline is still fairly new to researchers.ย

Blooming Bloodline (๐Ÿ—๏ธ VESTIGE)

Category: BLOODLINES
Species: Arkaine

Baseย Breeds (Standard, Royal, Pointe, Glacial) only.

Those who have the Blooming Bloodline have a strong, intimate connection with flora.

Their special magical abilities allow them to feel the lifeforce within all flora, enabling them to know whether or not the plant is healthy. Those who possess this ability can 'heal' plants, giving a small amount of their magic to jumpstart growth within a seedling, or a grown plant. They can bring dead plants back to life if they are skilled enough, but are unable to cause massive overgrowth.

Like an Arkaine's crystals grow naturally from their body, a Blooming Bloodline Arkaine has growths of flora.
These flora growths are natural, and ever-growing so long the Arkaine is healthy.ย

These natural flora growths are specific and unique to an Arkaine - meaning if a player chooses a 'dandelion' to be their chosen flora, they will be the only Arkaine allowed to use that flora for their Blooming Bloodline.
Blooming Bloodline flora will always be unique to each Arkaine, meaning there will never be any duplicates (UNLESS permission has been given, and the Arkaines are blood-related or story-tied).

The type of flora a Blooming Bloodline can grow includes: deciduous trees, shrubs, flowers, fruits, herbs, vines, and aquatic plants
They cannot grow: coniferous trees (see Heartwood Bloodline), or spore-bearing flora, including ferns, liverworts/hornworts, mosses, algae, and mushrooms

Heartwood Bloodline (๐Ÿ—๏ธ VESTIGE)

Category: BLOODLINES

Baseย Breeds (Standard, Royal, Pointe, Glacial) only.

Those who have the Heartwood Bloodline have a strong, intimate connection with trees.
They do not have nearly as expansive of flora-healing abilities as the Blooming Bloodline does, but they do have unique features and abilities.ย

This bloodline grants a deep connection to nature and plant life. Heartwood Arkaines can encourage rapid plant growth in trees & saplings. They also have the innate ability to communicate with ancient trees, but they can only listen to the 'whispers' in the leaves - they cannot have a conversation of sorts. The Heartwood Bloodline also has the impressive defensive ability to temporarily transform parts of their body into wood or bark.

Like an Arkaine's crystals grow naturally from their body, a Heartwood Bloodline Arkaine has growths of wood.
Depending on the type of wood, sometimes it will sprout branches, and grow leaves or cones/needles.ย
These wooden growths are natural, and ever-growing so long the Arkaine is healthy.

These natural wooden growths are specific and unique to an Arkaine - meaning if a player chooses an 'aspen' to be their chosen tree, they will be the only Arkaine allowed to use that tree for their Heartwood Bloodline.
Heartwood Bloodline wood/trees will always be unique to each Arkaine, meaning there will never be any duplicates (UNLESS permission has been given, and the Arkaines are blood-related or story-tied).

Heartwood Natural Growths Can Be...: deciduous trees & coniferous trees
Heartwood Natural Growths Cannot Be...: shrubs, flowers, berries, fruits, herbs, vines, and aquatic plants | spore-bearing flora, including ferns, liverworts/hornworts, mosses, algae, and mushrooms

Mycelial Weave Bloodline (๐Ÿ—๏ธ VESTIGE)

Category: BLOODLINES

Baseย Breeds (Standard, Royal, Pointe, Glacial) only.

Those with the Mycelial Weave Bloodline possess a profound, intimate connection with fungi and the hidden, interconnected networks beneath the earth.

Their unique magical abilities allow them to feel the life force within all fungi, discerning their health, growth patterns, and even subtle shifts in their environment. Those with this gift can "mend" fungal colonies, offering a small surge of their own magic to stimulate spore germination or accelerate the growth of existing mycelium. Highly skilled individuals can even coax dormant or decaying fungal structures back to vibrant life, though they cannot induce rampant, uncontrolled overgrowth.

Like an Arkaine's crystals grow naturally from their body, a Mycelial Weave Arkaine naturally develops fungal growths from their body. These growths are a living part of them, constantly evolving and unique.
These flora growths are natural, and ever-growing so long as the Arkaine is healthy.

These natural spore-producing growths are specific and unique to an Arkaine - meaning if a player chooses a 'scarlet bonnet' to be their chosen spore-producing flora, they will be the only Arkaine allowed to use that spore-producing floraย for their Mycelial Weave Bloodline.
Mycelial Weave Bloodline spore-producing floraย will always be unique to each Arkaine, meaning there will never be any duplicates (UNLESS permission has been given, and the Arkaines are blood-related or story-tied).

Mycelial Weave Natural Growths Can Be...: spore-bearing flora, including ferns, liverworts/hornworts, mosses, algae, and mushrooms
Mycelial Weave Natural Growths Cannot Be...: shrubs, flowers, berries, fruits, herbs, vines, and aquatic plants | deciduous trees & coniferous trees

Permanent Fur Paints (๐Ÿ”ฎ MYSTIC)

Category: REWARDED TRAITS
Species: Arkaine

Permanent Fur Paints are magical dyes that allow Arkaines to permanently alter the color and patterns of a small section of their fur or hair.
Unlike temporary dyes, these paints are infused with enchantments that bond the color directly to the fur follicles, ensuring the vibrancy lasts indefinitely without fading or washing out. This magical modification allows for intricate designs, bold statements, or subtle naturalistic changes, often used for personal expression, tribal markings, or to signify magical abilities and affiliations.

Cropped Ear(s) (FREE TRAIT)

Category: FREE TRAITS
Species: Arkaine

BODY MODIFICATION: Arkaines have the option to crop their ears, a procedure that typically alters the natural ear shape.
For proper form and healing, it's generally recommended that this be done by a professional.

ย

Ear Cropping in Arkaine Culture

  • Warrior Mark: Usually seen in Sunkeep Warrior soldiers & priests.
A traditional mark of a warrior or a rite of passage into adulthood, signifying resilience, readiness for battle, or a dedication to a martial path. The cropped ear is seen as less vulnerable in combat.

  • Aesthetic Preference: Certain cultures, such as the desert-faring Pointe breed, practice ear cropping as a cultural aesthetic; seen as making an Arkaine look more refined, powerful, or distinctive within their society.
Certain Arkaine clans or regions do have varying "ideal" ear shapes.ย

  • Symbol of Dedication/Allegiance: Cropped ears might signify allegiance to a specific house, a religious order, or a particular magical discipline. Extremely devout followers of Valontras have been known to crop their ears with a crescent-moon, half-circle shape. Extremely devout followers of Kamales have been known to crop their ears with a tight, tall shape, leaving a large round space at the bottom (usually where an earring or a gauge will be worn).ย

  • Practicality:ย For those who live or work in dense forests or engage in activities where long ears might get snagged or torn, ear cropping could be seen as practical.

  • Historical Echo: It is thought that the practice of ear cropping goes back for as long, if not longer, than written Arkaine history. Many cultures practice it to this day, and the practice is not culture or breed-specific (but some shapes may be).

Cropped Tail (FREE TRAIT)

Category: FREE TRAITS
Species: Arkaine

BODY MODIFICATION: Arkaines have the option to crop their tails, a procedure that typically alters the natural tail shape down to a shorter length. For proper form and healing, it's generally recommended that this be done by a professional.
